Grace Point Logo

 What's in the Logo?

Everything about the GracePoint logo is intentional, symbolic, and based upon biblical principles.  The creative mix of colors, fonts, and signs create an unmistakable image of God's grace and work for us.  The message of the logo is faith.  The mission of the logo is hope.  The ministry of the logo is love.  Faith, hope, and love give three dimensional definition to the amazing grace of our God.  Lets take a close look at the GracePoint logo.

THE COLORS:

The black and blue letters are the honest reminders of the fallen world in which we live.  This world will beat you black and blue with trials, tests, and temptations.  The adversaries of our faith are strong.  It may be an attack from Satan, an attractive lure from the world, or it may be our own flesh nature; but this world is filled with opposition to purity.  Black and blue reminds us of the truth of John 16:33...in this world you will have trouble.

The red is symbolic of the blood of Christ that was shed for the remission of our sins.  It covers the backwards "e" in grace which is a statement of what God did for us in redemption.  Ephesians 1:7 reminds us of the purchase price of our salvation.

The green dot is small but significant.  The green represents growth...a new bloom...a fresh start...the bearing of fruit.  The potential of grace will always be growth and a fresh start.  John 15:1-8 is the biblical teaching of everything the growth of grace represents.  Within the green dot is the "x marks the spot" sign.  This represents the specific point of grace God has for you.  It is God's will for you sighted in the crosshairs of His love.  Every person has a unique point of potential that is shaped and scoped for God's grace to bring to fruition.  Grace is the means by which God will get each person to the Point He desires for them.

The gray of background and letters in the logo represents the fog of where most people find themselves when needing the grace of God.  Too many times we stand in the place of critical decisions and sense uncertainty.  We often feel unworthy, disconnected, or wounded by our situation or circumstances...and we are the people of faith!  What a fog to be in...what a muddle of mission, emotions, decisions, and truth.  "Where Hope Knows Your Name" is in gray print because so many live in the muddle of the gray.  Until you believe and receive the grace of God, life is clouded with the gray fog of uncertainty.

The logo for GracePoint has real colors with real character waiting to be discovered and developed.  Most of the world is in the gray fog of unbelief or the gray mire of a spiritual disconnect, but the true colors of grace shine through the fog and bring the healing hue grace to the hurting.

THE LOGO SYMBOLISM:

The letters "G" and "r" are united to form the most important symbol of our faith, the cross.  The arm of the cross is reaching across the body of the word Grace.  The theology of grace is founded and framed in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross.  Philippians 2:5-11 paints the character of the cross and the grace it freely gives.  The letters "G" and "r" are saying the cross is "God's Rescue" for sinners, "God's Remedy" for sin, "God's Redemption" for whosoever will come.

The letter "e" is backwards because it symbolizes our sin nature.  We all have missed the mark of perfection and we all have the tendency to mess up with great regularity.  The backwards "e" is the reminder of our mess ups...it is the picture of our sinful nature...yet in the context of grace.  The backwards "e" is the intended target of the outstretched arm of the cross.  The backwards "e", my sinful nature, is covered in the red redemptive blood of Christ.  Grace is God's Redemptive Affirming Compassionate Embrace to sinners.

THE LOGO LETTERS:

The GracePoint letters are unique.  The letters are integrated into each other to give perfect symbolism of the unity in the body of Christ.  The "G" and "r", the "a" and "c" into the "backwards e", and the "P" and "o"  are reminders of our diversity being unified and brought into community  by the grace of God.  The letters paint of picture of unique harmony and the joy of working together as illustrated in the "i" and "n" standing dependently independent.  The letters of the logo are a perfect representation of Acts 2 and how God's grace bonded a diverse group into one amazing body.

THE HOPE MESSAGE:

"Where Hope Knows Your Name" is an exclamation of God's grace.  God knows us by name and is always pursuing us to be in a love relationship with Him.  He is the One who made us.  He is the One who was willing to die for us.  He is the One who waits and looks for our return (Luke 15:20) because He loves us!  Hope really does know our name!  This is a message a messed up world needs to hear.  You can come home...the Father of eternal hope knows your name.
